Compassion and Empathy have always been a part of our work. Our ODHS RESPECT model describes the internationally established principles of trauma informed care, emphasizing our agency's values and infused with the wisdom of our employees. Participants will hear an overview of the model and discuss the myths and misconceptions connected to trauma informed work before applying the concepts in relevant scenarios (in small groups).

Diagnosis & Evaluation Coordinator; Operations & Policy Analyst 3 (Eligibility)

ODHS - Office of Developmental Disabilities Services

Becky began her career in human services in the late 90's and has been in many roles ranging from Medicaid prior-authorizations, Medicaid program eligibility, SSI Liaison, and Disability Analyst. Over the years, being cohoused or working with Aging & People with Disabilities, Child Welfare, Self Sufficiency Programs, and the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, has brought many lessons and valued partnerships. Becky joined ODDS in 2014 and works in eligibility policy, rules, training, quality assurance and data measures. When not working, Becky enjoys spending time with her two young adult daughters, camping, fishing, hiking, gardening, reading and photography.

Linsay Fredrikson

Diagnoses & Evaluation Coordinator

ODDS

Linsay Fredrikson is a Diagnosis and Evaluation Coordinator at the Office of Developmental Disabilities Services. Linsay joined ODDS in 2022. Prior to ODDS, she worked as an Eligibility Specialist at a Community Developmental Disabilities Program for 15 years.

Trauma Aware Team - ODHS

Karen has been a social worker for almost 40 years. The first half she spent in community-based programs supervising shelter care for children who had been abused, working with those experiencing homelessness and addressing systemic issues related to poverty. At ODHS she has been focused on leadership development, program analysis and more recently trauma awareness. With over 20 years with the state, she has profound respect for her colleagues, our partners, and the families, individuals and communities we serve. She continues to be inspired by their efforts and stories.
