Kansei Engineering and Emotion Research
Kansei for Performance
The University of Oregon, the Department of Product Design and the Societies of the Kansei Engineering and Emotion Research (KEER) are pleased to invite you to the KEER International Conference in Eugene, Oregon, USA, on August 11-14, 2026. KEER brings together researchers and practitioners to explore the relationship between Kansei (affect, emotion, experience) design and our human-created built environment.
Expect keynotes, paper sessions, workshops, and panels showcasing methods, tools, and case studies—from product and service design to architecture, UX, and cultural research.
- Peer‑reviewed papers and poster sessions
- Hands‑on workshops and tutorials
- Industry + academic networking
The theme for KEER 2026 is PERFORMANCE. Performance is a strength at the University of Oregon (UO): physical human performance, mental health performance and environmental performance. Kansei engineering touches each of these areas, connecting our built environment to our physical, mental and environmental needs, thereby improving peoples’ performance in daily life. Please join us to share your research, discuss your findings and demonstrate how affective engineering expands our performance.
