Job Coaching Fade Plans and the Team Process


What is a Job Coaching Fade Plan? How can an SC or PA help with its development and success? ODDS Regional Employment Specialists Shelby Myers and Melanie Hartwig will cover best practice and the basics of developing a fade plan. We will review what a job coaching fade plan is and, when, why, and how, they are developed and monitored. Additionally, we will have a mini workshop on fade plan development.

Melanie Hartwig is one of six Regional Employment Specialist for ODHS’s, Office of Developmental Disability Services. ODDS Regional Employment Specialist work with our communities to advance Employment First in Oregon through partnership with Self Advocates, Case Management Entities, providers, and community partners. Melanie has had the privilege of working with adults and children who experience Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities for 38 years. Throughout the years every person has shared their talents, gifts, and dreams. It has been an honor to work with each person and to assist them to pursue their dreams and live the life they want.

Shelby Myers is the Regional Employment Specialist for Eastern Oregon providing employment related training and technical assistance to Union, Baker, Wallowa, Malheur, Umatilla, Grant, Morrow, Gilliam and Wheeler counties. She has 10 years of experience in the Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities career field including experience as a Community Developmental Disabilities Program Service Coordinator, Job Developer, Discovery Specialist, Job Coach coordinator, Day Support Activities and Employment Path coordinator and Job Coach.
