Addressing Disability Disparities in Oregon Health Care
The Oregon Office on Disability and Health (OODH) is implementing programs to improve accessibility in Oregon. Methods of engaging across community stakeholders and efforts to include people with disabilities for improved health systems will be presented. OODH aims to connect case management to assorted opportunities, including: 1) resources for supporting health and self-advocacy of adults with disabilities, and (2) information about training for health and mental health care providers in disability awareness, communication, and other accessible practices that can be shared with local providers. We will present the Linkage Project and share opportunities for case managers to refer individuals with disabilities to the project for health promotion and preventive care.
