New Realm Brewing Company – Auburn

Located between Hey Day Market and the Tony and Libba Rane Culinary Science Center, New Realm Brewing Company offers a lively gathering spot where craft brewing and education come together. The Auburn location features a 7-barrel brewhouse, producing small-batch beers on site while also serving selections from New Realm’s award-winning lineup.

What makes this location especially distinctive is its partnership with Auburn University’s Brewing Science and Operations program in the College of Human Sciences. Through this collaboration, the brewery serves as both a taproom and a hands-on learning environment where students gain real-world experience working alongside professional brewers. Auburn launched its graduate certificate in brewing science in 2014 and later introduced a Master of Science in Brewing Science and Operations—one of the first graduate-level programs of its kind in the United States.

Today, New Realm has become a popular gathering place for students, alumni, and visitors alike. With a welcoming taproom, dog-friendly patio, and rotating small-batch brews, it reflects Auburn’s spirit of innovation, collaboration, and community.

Led by Head Brewer Drew Kostic, the 20–30 minute brewery tour introduces guests to the brewing process and highlights what makes the Auburn location unique. Closed-toe shoes are required for the tour.

Following the tour, a current Auburn Brewing Science student will guide participants through a tasting of three locally brewed beers, sharing their history, flavor profiles, and the techniques that distinguish the brews produced here in Auburn.

The tour & tasting is one hour long and will be offered at 5:30pm, 6:30pm and 7:30pm $35 per person, limited to 20 participants per group per time slot.
