AUA Auburn June 2026

Suggestions on what to wear & pack

Greetings from the South! While daytime temperatures may feel warm, the high humidity is what you’ll want to watch for. You can expect daytime highs in the mid to high 80s with a heat index surpassing 100. It’s certainly manageable—thankfully, it’s not August.

For the lively Southern weather, opt for light, breathable clothing, a wide brimmed hat, umbrella and sunscreen. Keep a light jacket or sweater on hand for indoor spaces, which are often air conditioned to the point of wanting to go back outside to warm up. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.

Show off your current University’s gear for Sunday’s welcome, then switch to your alma mater gear for Monday’s tailgate party.

At the banquet, choose your “menu” of style:

Business – Finish off the week in classic polish.

Semi formal – A “cocktail-in-a-tuxedo” vibe – smart enough to impress, relaxed enough to feel like you.

Architecture themed – Think a dress shaped like a daring, off center geodesic dome, or a blazer drafted in minimalist blueprints—your runway, your blueprint.

Seriously though…think about packing:

  • Light, breathable clothing…think golf shorts, polo, capri’s, light dresses
  • Walking shoes: we will walk all over the campus
  • Rain prep: small umbrella – or buy an Auburn umbrella. Your choice.
  • Sun prep: sunscreen, wide brimmed hat, sunglasses.
  • Indoor temps: Light jacket/sweater
  • Water bottle: you need to stay hydrated

So, suit up, step out, and remember: if the humidity feels like a warm hug from a dear friend, you’re wearing the right outfit.
