Guardianship, Advocacy and Planning- Collaboration is the Key to Supporting a Person’s Life and Choices
This session will focus on collaborating with people and their guardians, especially when there are differences in perspective and disagreements while planning. Learn more about the role of guardians when planning with people and how, as facilitators of the planning process, we can support people’s voices and choices while honoring the perspectives of guardians. This workshop will offer facilitation tools and guardianship resources.

The Arc Oregon
Jennifer Buss (she/her) joined the OTAC training team at The Arc Oregon in September 2018 and currently manages training and technical assistance for the Oregon ISP project. Her background as a Services Coordinator and Direct Support Professional allowed her first-hand experience with person-centered planning & supports. Jenn is a Charting the LifeCourse Ambassador and credentialed Person Centered Thinking trainer.

Micah Ralston (he/him) is the Program Director for the Guardianship, Advocacy and Planning Services (GAPS) program at The Arc Oregon. Over his career, Micah has worked with students and their families seeking transition services in several roles. He has experience as a direct support professional, special education paraprofessional, Services Coordinator, and professional guardian.
