Data-driven decision making for urban mobility
While urban mobility data collection is still quite focused on the car, we are slowly moving into an era where multi-modal mobility data is becoming ubiquitous. This gives rise to many novel data-driven applications in both multi-modal traffic management and transportation planning. In this worksession, we explore the possibilities, pitfalls and challenges by discussing the results of a number of usecases (e.g., risk assessment, and forecasting during events in The Hague; multi-modal integrated traffic management in Rotterdam; trip characteristic inference and traffic data analytics in Riga) where “data analytics as a service” has been applied.
