The Mayor's Office of New Urban Mechanics in Boston is one of the longest continuously operating civic innovation teams among municipal governments. Created in 2010 to contrast with the everyday nuts and bolts of running a city by then Mayor Tom Menino, today's team serves Mayor Michelle Wu, her change agenda, and works side by side with innovative leaders in and outside of City Hall. Learn more about the evolution of civic innovation for Boston, lessons learned from building third spaces and explorations in AI, and how Boston is creating new possibilities for its people.
