Got Change for The Bus? Mobility Wallets and the Future of Transit Fare Payment Equity

Mobility Wallets have the promise to deliver Mobility as a Service (MaaS) by providing seamless interoperability between all modes of transportation including public bus and rail, private ride-hailing, scooter/bike service by unifying the account and/or payment. In this session we will share examples of Mobility Wallets from Los Angeles and Portland that leverage different technologies and approaches to provide an transportation menu of options to low-income residents. We will also consider the future of open loop and account-based technology that could make it more feasible for all transport systems to be interoperable and improve equity.
