Bringing Statistics to the Surface with Interactive Applets
How can we help students make sense of important statistical concepts like margin of error, confidence level, P-value, and statistical significance? Freely-available, interactive applets promote student engagement and encourage statistical reasoning. In this session, we’ll examine: a collaborative activity applet, a probability applet, two data analysis applets that offer simulation-based and traditional inference methods, a confidence level concept exploration applet, and a simulation applet for estimating a P-value and determining statistical significance in a randomized experiment. Suggestions for classroom use will be provided.
