Often coding in the math classroom can feel intimidating or even unrelated to the content we are teaching. What if we explored problems and ideas that lend themselves beautifully to coding? In this session we will explore a sequence of problems that are ripe with opportunity to explore using code. Come join the fun! No prior coding or programming experience is required.

Math Segment Manager
Curtis Brown taught mathematics and APĀ® Statistics in Pasadena TX and spent 5 years working for the National Math and Science Initiative as the Statistics Curriculum Coordinator. He currently works as the Math Segment Manager at Texas Instruments Inc. Since starting at TI in 2015 he has led many content development projects including the Modeling with Mathematics series and cohosts the educational podcast Room To Grow: A Math Podcast with Joanie Funderburk. He has always found joy in exploring the patterns and logic of mathematics. In his spare time he enjoys kayak fishing, and mountaineering with his sons.
