Proposal Acceptance.

Deadline: April 10, 2020

Thank you for submitting a proposal for Walk/Bike/Places, which is to be held in Indianapolis, IN, August 4-7, 2020. If one or more of your proposals has been accepted by our Program Review Committee, then you may use this portal to accept our offer to present and to provide us with any updates to your profile and proposal. Please indicate your acceptance/rejection of our offer by April 10, 2020.

Notes about each format

  • Breakout Proposals. There will be 8 breakout periods during the conference. Each period will be 75 minutes in length. Each breakout will be composed of 2 or more presenters selected by us to provide complementary and contrasting perspectives on a topic. Your email notification and the pages that follow will reveal who you have been matched with. Once the acceptance deadline has passed you will be connected with your co-presenters to update your breakout’s title, description and format/structure of the session.

  • Peer Coaching Proposals. The Peer Coaching format will be embedded in the breakout program, within its assigned conference track. Seventy-five minutes will be allocated for Peer Coaching and 3 or more Peer Coaches will be assigned to each room. Once the acceptance deadline has passed you will be connected with your assigned room facilitator to collaborate on the structure of the session, discussion questions and sample problems, and other specifics.

  • Poster Display Proposals. Each presenter will be assigned to two periods for a minimum of one hour of display time. Once the acceptance deadline has passed we will be in contact with specifics about your display area and whether internet and AC power will be available. 


Notes about registration

  • Acceptance of our invitation to present does not register you for the conference. Register here by March 31 to get our Early Registration rate.

  • Registration rates are determined by your sector of employment: Private, NGO/Non-Profit, Public, and Student/Recent graduate. Discounts are available for APBP members.

  • We have eliminated the Presenter discount for this year's conference because we have reduced the cost of all registrations. Registrations are priced from $200 to $550 for the full conference, with single day registrations also available.

  • We will not provide a specific scholarship application this year; instead, an application for a pay-what-you-can registration option will be made available for qualified applicants. Contact us at for more details.

Special Statement: We are carefully monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and its potential impact on Walk/Bike/Places 2020, however we are currently proceeding as planned with the conference in August 2020. Should anything change we will notify our audience promptly via the Walk/Bike/Places website, newsletter, and via email for those who have registered. We are basing our decisions on the latest information and advisories as they are released from Federal, State and Local governments.

In the meantime, we suggest that you review our refund policy which you can find here, and take precautions with your travel plans by having flexible options or insurance. In terms of accommodations, the conference hotel room block is available until July 7th.
