Civic Eye Collaborative
Ranjit Walia is the founding member of Civic Eye Collaborative (CEC), a community planning and communications firm that focuses on developing and promoting sustainable and livable communities through the use of participatory planning, outreach, visioning, and training techniques. Ranjit developed his expertise through public and private planning practice over a seventeen-year career. Prior to founding CEC he was a senior research specialist at the Alan M. Voorhees Transportation Center and for seven years managed and directed the New Jersey Bicycle and Pedestrian Resource Center. Ranjit’s professional strengths and expertise center on planning process and policy that use participatory community processes to explain the land use/transportation nexus to create livable communities with complete streets. He is a strong advocate for a holistic approach to transportation planning that integrates a community's mobility, safety, economic development and equity goals. Ranjit is passionate about community outreach, education, and training and focuses on developing training materials and processes that resonate and inspire both trainees and the community alike through the use of dynamic visuals. Ranjit received his undergraduate degree from Rutgers University and a Master of City and Regional Planning from the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University.
