Erin enjoys working with communities to plan for and implement projects that build toward community vision. As an avid runner and cyclist, she understands many communities’ desire to provide adequate sidewalks, multiuse paths, and bicycle lanes that better facilitate travel by foot and by bicycle. As a transportation engineer, Erin also understands the challenges of balancing the need to safely serve multiple modes with diverse characteristics while using limited resources. She has led over a dozen systemic safety analysis projects and action plans across California and numerous other safety-focused plans and projects for cities, counties, and states across the U.S. Erin She blends her national research experience as a co-author of the First Edition of the Highway Safety Manual (HSM) and as a member of the Transportation Research Board’s Committee on Highway Safety Performance and Committee on Safety Analysis, Data, and Evaluation with practical planning and project applications to help communities develop balanced, sustainable, and implementable solutions.
