Trish Sanchez is a Project Coordinator/Outreach Specialist at the Voorhees Transportation Center (VTC) at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey with experience in active transportation research and policy, public outreach and engagement and marketing and communications. She manages the NJ Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Resource Center in conjunction with the NJ Department of Transportation providing services, training, coordination, and technical assistance to the State’s eight Transportation Management Associations (TMAs), local and regional governments, schools/school districts, non-profits and other organizations with the goal of encouraging and enabling children to walk and bike to school safely. Trish has extensive experience in public outreach and engagement by supporting Together North Jersey, the HUD-funded initiative to develop a Sustainable Communities Regional Plan, implementing Innovative public engagement strategies for the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, supporting public outreach for their Coordinated Services Transportation Plan to gather input from traditionally underrepresented populations and other VTC projects. Along with an MBA in Marketing and Finance from Columbia Business School, Trish has extensive background and work experience in marketing and communications. She manages social media, websites and communications for VTC and NJ SRTS, utilizing all forms of media to increase awareness of sustainable transportation and health considerations.
