Dr. Phronie Jackson, Walk Leader for Walk With a Doc’s Washington, DC Chapter and 2016 American Walks’ Walking College Fellow, she is also an adjunct faculty member at the University of the District where she teaches undergraduate students in Public Health and Psychology and serves as the elavator and data scientist for the University’s MSI/CBO SAMSHA grant. Dr. Jackson received her Doctorate in Public Health degree from Walden University in November 2016 and was selected as the 2017 Social Change Research Fellow. Dr. Jackson has over 10 years experience in Public Health practice including, developing and implementing public health interventions, working as a Community Health Outreach Manager at the largest hospital system in Washington, DC, and as a Program Director of a 5 year national HIV/AIDS Prevention grant foundered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Her research interests include addressing health equity and health disparities by utilizing dissemination and implementation, comparative effectiveness, patient-centered outcomes and community based participatory research methods. She believes her most important and impactful roles are those of a mentor, mother of three, and wife for 24 years.
