Arts Programs

UO Book Arts

The Book Arts program at the University of Oregon encompasses many traditional graphic techniques through an annual selection of related courses, such as: Letterpress, Calligraphy, Watercolor, Color Theory, Bookbinding, and more. These studio classes will be held in the Book Arts facility at Lawrence Hall, located on the main UO campus, in Eugene, Oregon.

Gallery Management and Organization

This course is designed to offer instruction in the management and operations related to the presentation of art media in a variety of venues, including public and private galleries, public spaces, and alternative sites.

Interpretive Exhibits and Studio

This workshop teaches the basics of exhibit planning, organization, and text writing. Interpretive exhibits bring objects, images, and ideas to life for visitors through storytelling, diverse presentation media, and learning opportunities that engage multiple intelligences.

Professional Tools for Digital Media

The University of Oregon Department of Art and UO Division of Continuing Education are partnering to offer five unique series in Dreamweaver, Flash, Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. These 1-credit workshop courses are designed for career professionals, students, and community members alike to develop and expand their digital multimedia and graphic skill sets. Each series consists of three different skill levels to accommodate varying needs.

Stone Sculpture

The University of Oregon offers an exciting stone carving opportunity available for UO credit at a unique off-campus sculpture symposium location. This class is open to community members, artists and practitioners, and students.

Summer in the City

Summer in the City is a series of short-term, intense art and design workshops held at the White Stag Block in Portland, Oregon. Students may register for an individual workshop or take several in succession.
