Central Oregon Program Overview
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Central Oregon was originally established in 2002 as the Silver Sage Society. It is a member-run program designed to help meet the educational interests of the area’s growing number of mature adults. Program membership is open to all who have an interest in the lifelong pursuit of knowledge; there are no requirements that involve prior college experience.
OLLI in Central Oregon is a cooperative organization that depends on the active participation of its members. A Council, elected by the membership, acts as the main governing body while additional member-led committees help develop program policies, curriculum activities and special events.
Curriculum is offered through a monthly variety of thought provoking lectures, ongoing study and discussion groups, tours and activities. All upcoming program events are announced in a monthly newsletter and calendar sent to each member.
Open House
Open Houses are held three times a year—in fall, winter and spring. These events are open to any member of the community interested in learning more about the OLLI program. The agenda includes a social, a short organizational meeting and a presentation by a guest speaker. Call (541) 617-4663 or (800) 824-2714 for information on the next scheduled Open House.
