Medical Imaging: New views that change our life

Tuesday, November 17, 2:00–4:00 p.m.
Bend Senior Center

Join OLLI-CO and Traci Clautice-Engle, MD, for an informative journey through the world of medical imaging.

Far advanced from the x-rays of our youth, when images of bone were the best a physician could see, today imaging provides a detailed picture of organs, muscles and the structure of our bodies.

Dr. Clautice-Engle, a director of Imaging Services at Cascade Health, will explain the variety of imaging modalities–CT, Ultrasound, Body Imaging, MRI, PET CT, mammography, women’s imaging, and more - the uses in medical treatment and decision making, and the strengths and weakness of each modality. She will also include a brief review of radiation exposure and risk.

We will be updated on the advances in imaging and how new technologies are impacting the field of medicine, our treatment and outcomes, including coronary CTA, virtual colonoscopy, and limited invasive procedures.

A physician with Central Oregon Radiology Associates for more than 10 years, Dr. Clautice-Engle has served as the group’s president since 2004. Her residency at UCSD Medical Center in San Diego, CA in Diagnostic Radiology was followed by a Fellowship in Body Imaging at Stanford University Hospital in Stanford, CA.

There will be time for questions and answers.

This is an OLLI-CO Open House event, which is open to the public. Please invite friends and family to join you so that they can benefit from the exchange of ideas and stimulating programs that you enjoy!
