Attending the Workshops

The Professional Development Workshops are designed to assist event organizers at every level to develop their professional skills. While attendance varies depending on the workshop topic, the numbers are usually under thirty, providing excellent learning and networking opportunities.

Attendees will not only be able to expand their knowledge and skills by participating in the workshops, but also will meet part of the requirements for those seeking the UO Festival & Event Management Certificate of Completion. Additionally, morning and afternoon snack breaks provide opportunities to network informally with other workshop participants.

  • Workshop presentations will include an overview of the topic from the workshop facilitator, as well as lectures and discussions with highly experienced guest speakers from a variety of well-known festivals and events.
  • The most common workshop format is the one-day session on Fridays, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., held about once a month from September through June.
  • Information is provided as a handout, along with additional resources, at each workshop.
  • Attendees are welcome to bring informational flyers about their own special event to share with other attendees.

Workshop locations vary so please check registration details.
