Requirements

To obtain the Certificate of Completion, you must complete requirements in the three areas of Theoretical Overview, Professional Development Workshops, and Applied Learning.

  1. Theoretical Overview
Students may choose between the following two options for completing this requirement:

Take the "Foundations of Event Management" as a two-day intensive workshop in Fall, in Portland.

    OR

Take AAD 420/520 "Event Management" as a 4-credit, ten-week class, on the UO campus in Eugene.
  2. Professional Development Workshops
Students must complete six one-day workshops of their choice. (Note that the two-day "Foundations" workshop can satisfy either the Theoretical requirement or serve as one of the six Professional Development Workshops, but it cannot count as both.)
  3. Applied Learning (practicum and project)
    Students must complete both:
    • 4 credits of AAD 409/609 Practicum
    • 2 credits of AAD 406/606 Project (Special Problem)
Applied Learning experiences must be approved and supervised by AAD faculty. For details on the Practicum and Project, see the Applied Learning Requirements information.
