Oregon Country Fair Honored

The Convention & Visitors Association of Lane County Oregon (CVALCO) presented their Blue Heron Destination Promotion Award to the Oregon Country Fair (OCF) at their annual Industry Celebration on June 14. Leslie Scott, General Manager of the OCF, AAD Adjunct Instructor, and Festival & Event Management Program presenter accepted the award on behalf of OCF. See press release for details.

Festival & Event Management Program Receives
Ovation Award

The Festival & Event Management Workshop and Certificate Program received an Ovation Award from the Oregon Festivals & Events Association at this year’s Northwest Festivals and Events Conference that took place March 25-27, 2007 in Walla Walla, Washington. Sandra Gladney, Festival & Event Management Program Director, and Gaylene Carpenter, UO Arts and Administration Associate Professor Emerita, were both in attendance to accept the award. Janine Nys received her Certificate of Completion from Dr. Carpenter at the February 9th Festival & Events Management workshop in Portland.

Foundations Workshop 2nd Session

In response to numerous requests for a 2nd session of From Concept to Completion: The Foundations of Festival and Event Planning, there will be a repeat of this workshop March 1-2, 2007, at the UO Portland Center. IFEA Accreditation

We have reached an agreement with the IFEA to provide advanced credit toward the IFEA's CFEE designation. The two marketing workshops scheduled for November 9 and 10 have been approved for this credit. More information is available on the IFEA website.
