The city of Eugene, Oregon and the University of Oregon are proud to be the site for two remarkable Elderhostel programs, The Oregon Bach Festival and Track Town USA—Eugene: Where Your Soul Meets the Track.
As the state's second largest metropolitan area, hosting a population of more than 200,000, Eugene is known for its abundance of arts and culture and passion for sports and recreation. With more ways to cross its rivers by bike than car and miles of riverside paths, Eugene is consistently ranked as a bike and pedestrian friendly community.
Located in the heart of the city, the University of Oregon campus is home to over 20,000 students from around the world. The UO offers a broad spectrum of opportunities for learning in the liberal arts and professional programs in architecture, arts, business, education, journalism, law and music and dance. The division of Continuing Education has offered Elderhostel programs since the 1980s.
Elderhostel, Inc.
- Elderhostel, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing extraordinary learning adventures for people 55 and over. Founded in 1975, it offers in-depth and behind-the-scenes learning experiences for almost every interest and ability. Two of these remarkable programs occur in Eugene:
- Oregon Bach Festival: two weeklong sessions offered during this prestigious seventeen-day event.
- Track Town USA—Eugene: Where Your Soul Meets the Track: a one-week immersion into the history and lore of that has made Eugene "Track Town USA."
