Exams and Proctoring

Courses

Some online exams require that students take in-person exams at a prearranged testing location. The following courses currently require an exam proctor:

  • Business (BA)
  • Economics (EC)
  • Geography (GEOG)
  • Geology (GEOL)
  • Linguistics (LING)
  • Political Science (PS)

Arts and Administration (AAD) courses do not have exams. These courses rely heavily on participation through discussion and assignments.

Applied Information Management (AIM), Astronomy (ASTR), Environmental Science (ENVS), and Physics (PHYS) courses either do not have exams, or the exams are handled entirely by the instructor through online delivery. Please review the course syllabus or check with the instructor for more information.

The Social Science Instructional Lab (SSIL) administers exam proctoring for BA, EC, GEOG, GEOL, LING, and PS courses. Students need to establish a test taker ID and sign up for the exams. This can be done online at http://distanceeducation.uoregon.edu.
