TuitionTuition fees vary per course and are based on several factors, including student status (admitted or non-admitted), total number of credits for which you are registered in a term, and whether the course falls under regular tuition or self-support fees. Self-support FeesPlease be aware that some DE courses have a self-support fee that replaces tuition. This means that the fee is separate from standard UO tuition. The self-support fee is a flat fee and is not affected by overall credit load or residency status. There may also be additional fees depending on your major and student status. Please visit the Office of the Registrar’s "How Much Will It Cost" page for more information on calculating self-support fees into total costs. SSIL FeesTesting fees apply to online courses that need exam proctors. The Social Science Instructional Lab (SSIL) administers exams for Economics (EC), Geography (GEOG), Geology (GEOL), Linguistics (LING), and Political Science (PS) courses. SSIL will proctor exams that need to be taken in Eugene or Portland, or coordinate with remote proctor sites. SSIL offers a multiple course discount. Online Courses and FeesUniversity of Oregon Distance Education classes run on the same term schedule as regular, on-campus courses, and are subject to the same rules and deadlines. Distance Education courses provide the same credit and appear the same on a transcript as any other UO class. Please visit the DE course listing for detailed course information including syllabi, whether it falls under regular tuition or self-support fees, or to see whether it has a SSIL fee.
