ProgramWelcome to the Oregon University System's First Annual Campus Sustainability Conference. Two distinct themes - Campus Operations and Student Engagement - provide focus for our conference. For each theme, conference organizers developed a full day of activities. DAY ONE: Campus Operations provides senior administrators, budget managers, program directors, staff, and students opportunities to engage experts from around the nation on the key sustainability issues that are driving changes in campus operations. The goals are to 1) create and strengthen knowledge networks and 2) provide decision makers the insights they need to transform our campuses into 21st century models of sustainability. Click here to view the DAY ONE program schedule. DAY TWO: Student Engagement recognizes and supports a key component to the success of the campus sustainability movement: our students. Keynote speakers and workshop presenters will help students develop insights and skills necessary for effective leadership. The lunchtime sustainability fair provides opportunities to learn what issues students from across the Oregon University System are focusing on, how they are engaging their institutions, and how to get involved with their projects. Afterwards, senior administrators will join OUS Chancellor George Pernsteiner for a "town hall" meeting with students to explore issues, discuss challenges, and identify available resources to help students meet their goals.
