Conference Kickoff
Set the stage for an amazing conference!
Sunday, 1–3 pm, Wells Fargo Theatre
Make the most of ISTE's rich content—at ISTE 2010 and year round. In this fast-paced, fun program, media guru and session host Mario Armstrong will guide you through your onsite experience, help you network with your peers, and share tips for engaging with your membership throughout the year.
The first 2,000 attendees through the door will receive an ISTE stainless steel water bottle, and all will be entered into a drawing for fabulous prizes including an iPad, netbook, iPod Touch, and Kindle.

Sunday Networking Activities and Cafés
A great way to connect and collaborate
3–5 pm, throughout the CCC (see below)
Jump start your networking by collaborating at one of several hands-on activities, and discuss the theme of excellence during two hours of fun-filled events.
Exploring Excellence Cafés
3:30–5 pm, Korbel Ballroom, Sections A–C
Using the NETS framework and six standards for student literacy, spend an hour with your peers exploring the face of educational excellence. All participants receive an official ISTE Explorer pin and certificate. This is a working session with outcomes to be reported out Monday, 12:30-1:30 pm, in Four Seasons Ballroom 4.
SIG Open House
3–4:30 pm, Lobby A, Poster Gallery
Learn what ISTE Special Interest Groups are all about by taking a stroll through our SIG Open house. SIG membership offers a great way to increase your knowledge base and connect with like-minded colleagues. Meet the volunteers who lead SIGs year round, learn more about SIG activities (onsite and throughout the year) and find out how you can get involved as a volunteer.
Podcasting Fun: The Sounds of ISTE Spirit
3–4:30 pm, Lobby A
Help capture the sounds of ISTE 2010 by participating in an interactive, hands-on podcasting activity led by ISTE Author Christopher Shamburg. Fun for all, from novice to expert, work at your own pace at stations where you can sing a song, recite a poem, or interview a friend. Keep your ears open for the mashups that will be released after the event.
Community Meetups
4:30–5 pm, (locations below)
Second Life™ Meetup: Drop in to the Virtual Environments Playground, Lobby B, to see old friends and meet new ones, and learn new tips and tricks for navigating the conference virtually and in person.
ISTE 2010 Tweetup: Meet your tweeps in person in the Social Butterfly Lounge, Lobby D, for the first official Tweetup at ISTE 2010. Use the hashtag #ISTE10 to tweet about the conference all week long.
Young Educator Meetup: Young educators in their 20s and 30s can touch base with their colleagues, and get the scoop on additional meetups scheduled throughout the conference. If you're also a conference newbie, get tips on how best to navigate ISTE 2010. Lobby B, Restaurant/Lounge.
Social Butterfly Lounge Activities
3–5 pm, Social Butterfly Lounge, Lobby D outside the Wells Fargo Theatre
Fly in for a handful of short social media tutorials to help you get the most out of the conference and your personal social media. Learn new tricks and exchange tips with fellow attendees.
Leadership Strand Orientation & Networking Session with Susan Brooks-Young
Sunday, 4–5:15 pm, Room 205/207
Meet other leaders from around the globe and elevate the conversation about educational technology and its role in creating learning environments that work. A fun networking activity will help you connect with as many other leaders as possible in a short period of time. Arrive a solo act, leave a member of a connected cadre of colleagues.

Happy Hour Reception: "Reaching New Heights"
