| Description: | African American children can achieve. Our students have maintained API scores well above 800. Wilders Preparatory Academy Charter School (WPACS) is nearly five years old; it is inner city K-8. Is the Wilder teaching and learning model transferable to other schools? Participants will actively engage in activities that will lead to increased student achievement. Participants will experience hands on activities that can be replicated at their school sites that represent The Wilder’s Way to achieve student success. |

| Description: | Practitioners will provide a brief introduction to project-based learning in an advisory-based learning environment, based on the nationally recognized EdVisions Schools model. Students from Aveson Charter School will model how they use advisory time to build relationships, develop the school culture and frame their learning. They will then model the five stages of an engaging real-world project, including how they connect self-directed projects of their interest to California state standards and UC A-G course requirements. |
