Downtown College Prep does. This facility is designed to encourage collaboration and congregation in open communal spaces. Thanks to a commitment to mentoring, students from Santa Clara University are teaching a senior class, Writing for College, in which students and mentors work together on essays and gain confidence.

Title:Building Solid Futures for Every Youth: A Campaign To Create An Architecture, Construction, & Engineering (ACE) Academy in South Los Angeles

Description:In 2006 the Community Coalition launched a campaign to create pathways out of poverty by building career technical academies in South Los Angeles high schools that connected students to jobs that offered living wages, health benefits and union protection. These academies would prepare students to either attend college or find careers.

After two years, Green Dot Public Schools committed to launch the first Architecture, Construction, and Engineering (ACE) academy at Locke High School in September 2009!
