Greetings 2007 AUA Members, Family and GuestsBob and I are pleased to extend a warm Midwestern welcome to each of you and hope you will join us at Miami University and the University of Cincinnati for our 2007 conference. The theme for this year's conference is "Sense of Place: Classical to Contemporary" and the venues we have planned will allow you to experience this for yourself.
Our conference host hotel will be Marriott's Kingsgate Conference Center on the University of Cincinnati's campus. The hotel is a short ten minute walk to the heart of the campus and affords all the amenities we have come to expect of our conference hotel. Since there are two hosts for this year's events, we will be spending Tuesday at Miami University touring and experiencing the classical beauty of the campus. Remember, this is where W.H. McGuffey pioneered the standards for school textbooks and gave us the "McGuffey Readers." We will end our day with a Midwestern picnic dinner and an old fashioned baseball game which should be fun for all. The program committee this year has tried to do something different for the family and guests. They separated the venues provided between conferees with children and just adults. Also, they tried to provide more free time to catch up with family news and events over the past year as well as more time to enjoy the city of Cincinnati. Between now and the time of the conference, please continue to check the web site for updates on venues, places of interest, events and other pertinent information. Bob and I as well as the program committee are looking forward to seeing all of you at our 2007 conference.
