Audits
There are two types of audit.
- Audit as a registration status. When registering for a course, you may choose to Audit the course, if space is available in that course. Audit enrollments are recorded on your academic record, but no credit is earned. Audited classes do not satisfy degree requirements, nor do they count toward the Graduate School's continuous enrollment requirement. The tuition and fees are the same for the Audit option, but the academic expectations of coursework are not the same as a credit-bearing grade option.
Note that some departments or courses do not allow auditors, therefore you should check with the department staff or course instructor in your area of interest to be sure you will be allowed to audit a course.
- Senior audit. Oregon residents age sixty-five or older may audit at no charge provided they have obtained the department's consent. Audit registration must be done in person at the Office of the Registrar beginning the first day of classes. Please bring a photo ID. Some classes have special fees. See the Schedule of Classes for details.
