Before You Register

Step-by-Step Guide:

Registering for UO classes through the Community Education Program can be broken down into these easy steps. You can also view a visual version of this process here.

  1. Verify your eligibility for CEP. CEP is a non-admitted, non-degree enrollment program for fall, winter, and spring terms. For summer term enrollments, please complete the Summer Session Registration Eligibility form
  2. Create a student record and obtain a Personal Access Code (PAC) that will allow you to register for classes. There are several ways to request a CEP registration status:
    • Complete the Registration Eligibility and Personal Access Code (PAC) Request Form online. The Office of the Registrar processes CEP Registration Eligibility forms and sends registration information via postal mail within five to ten business days. Please note this may take several weeks for international mailings. CEP applications submitted early may not be processed until the term prior to requested registration eligibility. For example, CEP applications submitted during spring for fall term registration may not be processed until the beginning of summer term. For questions regarding this process, please contact the CEP office.
    • Call the CEP office at (541) 346-5614 and complete the form over the phone, to receive registration information via postal mail.
    • Visit the Community Education Program office at at 975 High Street, suite 110 and complete the form. CEP staff will fax your completed form to the Office of the Registrar for processing.
    • Visit the Office of the Registrar in 220 Oregon Hall and complete the form. You may receive your registration information and PAC in-person by presenting photo ID with your completed form at the Office of the Registrar if it is during the appropriate part of the registration cycle. If it is not possible to receive your registration information and PAC immediately, it will be mailed to you.
  3. Review the details about classes and locate your preferred course sections.
  4. Check for any course prerequisites and verify other particulars of the schedule and location of the class. Follow up with the instructor or departmental administrator, if necessary, by using the UO Directory or Department listing to find contact information.
  5. Read the instructions for registering via DuckWeb
  6. Note on the calendar the date that registration begins for CEP students.
  7. Be aware of the changes you can make to your registration (i.e. adds, drops, and withdrawals) and the policies around those changes.
  8. Register using DuckWeb. The University of Oregon no longer uses an automated phone system for registration. If you need registration assistance, please contact the CEP office at (541) 346-5614.

If it has been more than four terms since your last active enrollment, you will need to reactivate your CEP status by completing the registration eligibility form again. If you have forgotten your student ID number or PAC number, please call the Office of the Registrar. Resuming CEP students that have been actively enrolled within the past four terms still have an active student status and can continue to use existing PACs.

If you have questions about your status, call the Community Education Program office at (541) 346-5614, between the hours of 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday or e-mail cep@uoregon.edu.
