Welcome

The Arts and Administration Program at the University of Oregon informs cultural sector administration, policy, research, and education. This program prepares and inspires cultural leaders based on the belief that they must be familiar with the social, economic, environmental, political, technical, and ethical contexts in which arts and culture flourish.

The Division of Continuing Education and the Arts and Administration Program have partnered to offer a new series entitled Professional Practices. These credit courses are designed for students and professionals alike to gain real-world knowledge and apply their new skills toward making a difference in their communities.

• Interpretive Exhibits Studio—learn how to bring objects, images, and ideas to life for museum visitors through storytelling and organization of diverse presentation media.
• Museum Ethics—discuss and learn about ethical standards beyond the boardroom for museum staff and students preparing to work in museums.
• Performing Arts Industry: Standards and Practice—designed for artists and arts managers interested in the business practices of presenting performing arts events.
• Planning Interpretive Exhibits—engage in hands-on, creative exploration of skills and techniques of exhibit development.
• Youth Arts Curriculum and Methods—addresses the fundamental principles of curriculum development for teaching the arts.
