Book Arts

Book arts and artists’ books are important disciplines in contemporary art and design. The Book Arts program at the University of Oregon encompasses many traditional graphic techniques through an annual selection of related courses. These studio courses are held in the Book Arts facility at Lawrence Hall, located near the intersection of Franklin Boulevard and Onyx Street, in Eugene, Oregon.

Who Can Take These Classes?

Anyone interested in design, calligraphy, illustration, printing, or books will find a class here that can benefit their development:

  • Community members will have an opportunity to get to know the excellent faculty and facilities of the UO Art Department.
  • Artists and practitioners who are already knowledgeable can take this opportunity to expand their experience and goals.
  • UO students may choose to take an evening course that enriches or complements their primary studies.

Non-admitted students and community members can register via the Community Education Program or by calling Continuing Education.
