Abstract: In this classroom demonstration session, presenters will share strategies for using nonfiction texts including graphic novels and informational texts to teach "To Kill a Mockingbird" in ways that highlight the Black liberation struggle, and trouble the popular notion that the novel was a race relations pioneer.
