Lecture Formal, one-hour presentations (unless otherwise specified), in lecture or demonstration format given to a seated audience; could include small group activities. Any successful implementation, strategy, or promising technology across all themes and strands; content should be of high interest and widely applicable to the broader NECC audience with a focus on evaluation and synthesis rather than the history/details of a specific project or initiative. Content should educate, inspire, challenge, and /or provide specific implementation ideas.
Panel Formal, one-hour presentations with a dedicated moderator host interacting with 2 to 4 co-presenter panelists. Content should lend itself to a variety of perspectives/settings with the moderator focused on creating a cohesive look at a topic from a variety of perspectives/levels or a variety of implementations.
Model Lesson One-hour sessions in which the first 20 attendees play role of students in a model classroom and are taught a model lesson/activity by the first presenter. A second presenter acts as emcee simultaneously explaining the lesson and the classroom management/instructional strategies being implemented to the remainder of the observers. (Note that the lesson length would need to be 30 to 45 minutes to allow for debrief and Q&A.) Standards-focused model lessons for any content area that incorporates technology and the latest learning theories such as project-based learning and differentiated instruction.
