ISTE Awards Presentations
Please join us in honoring the 2008 winners of ISTE's annual educational technology awards. The exemplary recipients of these awards have demonstrated excellence and innovation in the effective use of technology.
The following awards will be presented at Tuesday morning's Keynote session, 8:30—9:45 am, Ballroom C.

The Sylvia Charp Award for District Innovation in Technology
Sponsored by T.H.E. Journal and ISTE
This award recognizes a school district that has demonstrated consistent effectiveness and innovations in the application of technology district-wide.

2008 ISTE Outstanding Teacher Award recognizes and honors a classroom teacher who has demonstrated outstanding achievement in implementing technology to improve education. Winners are selected from nominations by ISTE Affiliate organizations.

ISTE's Kay L. Bitter Vision Award for Excellence in Technology-based PK—2 Education
This award recognizes a PK—2 educator who has demonstrated vision and creativity in a project or program that effectively integrates technology into his/her classroom and/or school.

2008 SIGTel Online Learning Award
Sponsored by ISTE SIGTel (Telelearning/Distance Learning)
This award recognizes creative educators for their pioneering use of telelearning activities to provide innovative learning opportunities for students in Grades K—16. Winners will present poster sessions about their projects.

2008 SIGTE Research Paper
Sponsored by ISTE SIGTE
The winning paper is "Innovative Technologies, Small Groups, and a Wiki: A 21st-Century Preservice Experience Founded on Collaboration," by the following authors from Arizona State University: Teresa Fougler, Mia Kim Williams, Keith Wetzel.
The winner of the SIGTE Research Paper Award will be announced at the SIGTE Business Meeting. The winning author will also present the paper at a special SIGTE-sponsored session.

2008 SIG Media Specialist Technology Innovation Award
This annual award, sponsored by Linworth Publishing Incorporated and Follett Software Company, honors teams of a school librarian and collaborating teacher who have conducted an exemplary technology program extending beyond the library to meet the needs of classroom students and teachers.
