Expanded Description

OVERVIEW
A growing number of ISTE 100 members are developing and enhancing a variety of quality assessment items, tasks, and resources that are available for schools and districts. The assessment initiatives highlighted will address various NETS*S and NETS*T. Administrators who attend can also learn how they can meet NETS*A V.

The second hour of this forum will include a more in-depth perspective of assessments in the classroom, through an expert panel discussion. The panel discussion, with Q & A, will provide an opportunity to share thoughts with the ISTE 100 assessment partners and ISTE’s leadership about these cutting-edge assessments. Participants will receive current information on assessment tasks, curriculum, and resource guides that address current issues in assessing technology literacy as well as a chance to win assessment books and more.

Through these technology-rich assessment students will have opportunities to demonstrate mastery of technology skills and NETS*S. Teachers and Administrators will gain information on resources and assessments that are designed for technology-rich learning environments.

This is a must attend session for those interested in learning more about technology-rich assessments that have been awarded ISTE’s Seal of Alignment.

PRESENTER BIOS
Mila M. Fuller, MA (mfuller@iste.org, 1.202.861.7777 ext. 125) is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). Mila is responsible for helping the CEO in establishing and maintaining strategic alliances. She also assists with identifying and exploring partnerships with institutions, agencies and other organizations to further the ISTE mission and to address technology in teacher quality. Mila currently serves as an adjunct assistant professor of education at the University of Maryland University College (UMUC), and is Past-President of the ISTE affiliate, MICCA-An Association in Maryland for Educators Using Technology. Mila is based out of the ISTE Washington, DC Office, and has provided a variety of national and international presentations focused on improving teaching and learning by advancing the effective use of technology in education.

Prior to joining ISTE, Mila served as a district-level Coordinator for Technology Leadership, Program Manager for the Maryland Technology Academy Satellite Programs of Baltimore City, Adjunct Faculty of Education for the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, University of Maryland at College Park, and 4th/5th grade teacher. Mila also served as a member of the Committee on Technology in Education (COTE) which was responsible for the development of the Maryland State Plan for Technology. Mila earned a Master of Arts in Leadership in Teaching with an endorsement in Administration & Supervision from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland.
