NES T
Teachers must have knowledge and skills required to use Assistive Technology to help students learn and know when to use it, how to use it and if it needs to be used. Also, teachers should be cognizant of the social-emotional issues around using assistive technologies and the value add from integrating it into their repertoire of instructional technology tools for all students.

NETS A
Administrators must be cognizant of the power of and necessity of assistive technology. As instructional leaders they must create an environment that encourages the effective use of assistive technology and maximizes it’s usefulness. They must also be aware of the social role it plays within the school day and equip teachers with the information they need to be able to legally provide these services.
