The Georgia Department of Education
The Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) oversees public education throughout Georgia. The GaDOE's Office of Instructional Technology works collaboratively within the GaDOE to accomplish the State's mission by changing classroom instruction through the effective use of technology. To achieve this, Georgia schools spotlight: 1) performance-based curriculum; 2) assessment and analysis of student data; 3) 21st century learners; 4) 21st century learning environments; 5) differentiated instruction; and 6) high quality teachers and leaders.
Georgia Public Broadcasting
Georgia Public Broadcasting's mission is to create, produce and distribute high quality programs and services that educate, inform and entertain its audiences and enrich the quality of their lives.
GPB's education service is Georgia's electronically delivered classroom for all Georgia learners, and Georgia educators' source for top-quality multiple media educational products and services. With a network of 2,428 satellite dishes, GPB broadcasts educational video programming to every public school, regional library, adult technical education center, youth development center, and public college and university in Georgia, serving more than 90,000 teachers and approximately 1.5 million students across the state via satellite, the Web, and open-air broadcasts.
Georgia's Leadership Institute for School Improvement
Georgia's Leadership Institute for School Improvement supports the success of educational leaders and Georgia's schools through collaboration with the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, Georgia Partnership for Excellence in Education, Georgia Professional Standards Commission, Georgia State government, K-12 educational leaders, and business leaders.
GLISI provides education and development for educational leaders, and works to research, define and institutionalize a leadership model based on best practices for the "new work" of leadership of school improvement. GLISI also works to influence policy to establish new processes for leader recruitment, selection, preparation, development, and retention based on best practices that support school improvement.
