New! Final Room Assignments/Exhibitor Links

Final presentation room assignments have been completed. All sessions and seminar/demo workshops are scheduled onsite at the San Diego Convention Center (SDCC). Most hands-on workshops are scheduled either in computer labs at the Omni Hotel or offsite at nearby County Office of Education and university facilities. Use the Presenter Login to access your speaker menu to determine the location of your presentation, and to view detailed room configuration and equipment information.

New this year, you may also elect to have your online session description linked to a maximum of 5 exhibitors on the Interactive Exhibit Floor Plan. Visit your speaker menu for more information and to set up your links.

Workshop Breakeven Status

NECC has completed its final workshop enrollment breakeven analysis. All workshop presenters must acknowledge receipt of their breakeven status via their speaker menu on or before May 5. Use the Presenter Login to access your speaker menu to determine if your workshop made the final cut.

Uploading Handouts and Research Papers

Handouts
NECC presenters are encouraged to make their handouts available to conference attendees via the NECC Web site. Handouts may be uploaded before, during, and after the conference, through July 21.

Research Papers
Papers on the subject of teacher education submitted by April 17 will be considered for the 2006 SIGTE Research Paper Award of Excellence. All other papers must be submitted by June 30. Be sure to read the following detailed instructions for formatting and submitting your paper:

How to Upload Files

Step 1: Save your files in one of the following formats:

  • Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)—preferred for handouts; required for papers
  • Microsoft PowerPoint (.ppt)
  • Plain Text (.txt)
No other formats will be accepted. The maximum allowable file size is 5 MB.

Step 2: Upload your files via your speaker menu. Use the Presenter Login to access your speaker menu.

Step 3: Verify the successful upload of your files before signing out of the handout upload screen.

Proposal Acceptance/Regret Status Now Available Online

The Proposal Review Committee has completed its review of all NECC 2006 proposal submissions. Acceptance and regret notifications were e-mailed to all main presenters on December 6, 2005; however, you may also ascertain the status of your proposal and the day/time you have been assigned to present, if applicable, via your Speaker Menu.

All main presenters must complete an online participation agreement form for each accepted proposal by December 23, 2005. Please use the Presenter Login above to access your Speaker Menu and confirm your participation.

Editing Your Proposal

NECC will publish its Advance Program in mid-February. In conjunction, all the presentation-related proposal content in our database will be made public on our Web site. As such, we ask you to help us keep this information as accurate and up-to-date as possible. This includes your contact information, proposal summary, primary URL, equipment requests, and co-presenter information.

Note: your session title and short description may have been edited for length and/or marketing appeal, and are no longer accessible for editing. If you feel a change is necessary for either of these two fields, please contact .

Presenter Registration/Housing

Presenters must register to attend NECC. Presenters are eligible for Super Early-Bird pricing regardless of when they register.

To register:
  1. Go to the Registration home page.
  2. Click on the Register Now button.
  3. Select any and all appropriate Registration Profile tags for membership and confirmed presenter status.
Housing is separate from the conference registration process. Please see Housing/Travel for information on how to reserve a hotel room. NECC hotel rooms fill up fast, so be sure to make your reservations as early as possible.
