Supporting Research
NCLB requires that states provide highly qualified teachers for their classrooms. NCLB requirements for high quality professional development are outlined at http://www.ed.gov/inits/teachers/development.html
The State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) studied high quality professional development at the 2003 National Leadership Institute (NLI) and created a tool kit to help states with the NCLB requirement http://www.setda.org/Toolkit2003/hqpd/ The topic is again under study at the 2004 NLI.
